Wandsworth Older People’s Forum invites you to join us for our next Community Forum, bringing residents, community organisations and local services together to connect, share information and strengthen our community.

Our Community Forums are an opportunity to hear about the fantastic work happening across Wandsworth, discover services and activities available locally, meet new people and have your voice heard.

Our speakers

Wandsworth Welcomes Refugees
Hear about their work supporting people seeking sanctuary and helping to build a more welcoming and inclusive Wandsworth.

Serena Potter – Repair Café
Discover how the Repair Café brings people together to repair household items, share practical skills, reduce waste and build community connections.

Community Sheds Project – managed by Age UK
Find out more about community shed activities designed to promote friendship, practical skills, connection and wellbeing.

We are delighted to announce the date for the Wandsworth Older People’s Forum Conference 2026.

This year’s theme is:

The Future of Healthy Ageing: Voices, Partnership and Action

Our annual conference will bring together older residents, community organisations, voluntary sector partners, health and care services, decision-makers and other stakeholders to explore how we can work together to make Wandsworth a better place to grow older.

The conference will focus on four important areas:

Stronger Voices – ensuring older people are heard and included in conversations and decisions that affect their lives.

Better Partnerships – strengthening collaboration between residents, community organisations and services.

Positive Action – turning conversations and ideas into meaningful improvements.

Better Lives for All – supporting healthy ageing, wellbeing, inclusion and stronger communities across Wandsworth.

The conference will provide opportunities to hear from speakers, share experiences, make connections and contribute to conversations about the future of healthy ageing in Wandsworth.

Our aims​
 

•  give older people an active voice in stating their needs and views on local and national issues that concern them​
   
• promote the importance of acknowledging and respecting the dignity and worth of older people​
   
• positively combat age discrimination.

     What we do​
 

• hold open meetings every month with relevant speakers​
   
• ·campaign on key issues affecting older people​
   
• ·support and bring together a network of organisations in Wandsworth which work with older people​
   
• ·represent older people’s interests on local groups​
   
• ·organise an annual Conference on a topical issue relating to older people for our stakeholders​
   
• produce a regular newsletter with a wide circulation

     Who we are​
 

• ·a member organisation open to any older resident in Wandsworth or any individual or organisation working with older people in Wandsworth​
   
• ·run by a  group of volunteers who form a management committee supported by a part time administrator​
   
• funded by Wandsworth Council until 2023 and helped by other charities and Trusts from time to time
